Divided into two age groups, participants aged 13-18 will have an opportunity to exhibit their artistic prowess and vie for the prestigious title of the first Young At Art exhibition winner.
The Young At Art Exhibition/Contest presents an ideal avenue for budding artists to express their unique perspectives and artistic visions. With the age groups thoughtfully divided, contestants will compete amongst their peers, ensuring fairness and promoting healthy competition.

YOUNG AT ART CONTEST REQUIREMENTS
ART BAR GRENADA is pleased to announce our inaugural Youth Art Exhibition and Contest.
THEME: We encourage these young artists to explore the rich history Grenada holds and create works that express what “Forward Ever: One People, One Journey, One Future” represents to them.
• Entry Deadline: December 10, 2023 Deadline has been extended to January 20.
• Youth ages 13-18 who live in Grenada are invited to participate in the ART BAR GRENADA Young At Art Youth Exhibition and Art contest.
• Prizes will be awarded to finalists in each age group! Submissions will be displayed at our Christmas Small Works Creative Fair and will be showcased in an online gallery.
• Contest Host: ART BAR GRENADA
• Medium: ink, water color, acrylic, mixed-media or collage-creativity is encouraged! Size must be 12in x 12in canvas.
AGE GROUPS
13-15, 16-18
RULES
Contest is open to youth ages 13 to 18. Open to individuals only, no collaborative entries.
All entries must be original and free of copyright restrictions. Computer-generated images and traced images will not be judged. Submitted artwork may not be overly derivative of images found on the Internet, in print media, or elsewhere.
Artists name or signature may not be printed on the front of the artwork.
Winners will be selected from a panel of judges selected by ART BAR GRENADA. Omission or illegibility may result in disqualification.
All entries should reflect the theme.
Entries must be received by January 20, 2024.
Winners will be announced on February 2, 2024 at the exhibition.
HOW TO ENTER:

Important: please provide a high quality representation (scan or photograph) of the artwork. Please avoid hand holding the art or showing background (like the room the photo is taken in or a frame).
Do not sign your artwork on the front – artwork with names visible will not be eligible for judging.
Please orient the image in the direction the artwork should be viewed.
Tips for taking photos of your artwork:
• Place your artwork on a flat surface. You can also lean art against a wall in a well-lit area.
• Try to make sure that you’re not casting shadows.
• Center your work of art. If it’s on a flat surface, take the photo from directly above.
• Do not apply filters.
• Crop the photo so only your artwork is visible.
Please note: ART BAR GRENADA cannot accept physical artworks – online submissions only. Physical artworks will be brought to the exhibition by the eligible participants for display on February 2, 2024.
JUDGING
The art contest will be judged by a panel of guest judges assembled by ART BAR GRENADA based on how the theme is addressed in the artwork, skill and originality.
PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded by ART BAR GRENADA to the top submissions in each age group. There will also be a prize for the winner of the people’s choice.
GRANT OF RIGHTS
Eligible participants grant the ART BAR GRENADA the rights to display and/or use images of their original artwork. This consent applies in all forms known now or in the future, in all media and in all manners, including, but not limited to, advertising, art editorial, online and exhibition. Submission of the artwork grants the ART BAR GRENADA a non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free license to publish the artwork. All published artwork will be credited with a copyright notice in the following form: “© Artist’s first and last Name.” Eligible Participants also release the ART BAR GRENADA, their affiliates, respective directors, officers, agents, and employees from any and all claims of any kind on account of any such use.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY AND RELEASE
No liability or responsibility is assumed by ART BAR GRENADA or resulting from any eligible participant’s participation in or attempt to participate in the Art Exhibition/Contest. The ART BAR GRENADA is not responsible for any typographical errors in any announcement related to the Young At Art Contest or these Contest Rules. By participating in the exhibition/contest, eligible participants agree to release and hold the ART BAR GRENADA harmless from any and all claims, damages, or liabilities arising from or relating to participation in the exhibition/contest.
PUBLICITY RELEASE
Participation in the Young At Art Exhibition/Contest and/or acceptance of a prize, constitutes permission for the ART BAR GRENADA to use, without notice or further compensation, worldwide and in perpetuity, any eligible participant’s submission and related information for any purpose, including without limitation, advertising and promotional purposes as well as in, on or in connection with the website or the exhibition/contest or other promotions, and each eligible participant hereby releases the ART BAR GRENADA from any liability with respect thereto.
GENERAL RULES
By participating in the ART BAR GRENADA’s Young At Art Exhibition/Competition, eligible participants agree to these Contest Rules. If for any reason the Young At Art Exhibition/Contest is not capable of running as planned, ART BAR GRENADA reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, modify, or suspend the event.
